One Foot Raised.
On Thursday 31 July, St Ignatius Day, thousands of Australians will take part in One Foot Raised and walk in solidarity with the people of Myanmar. As a Jesuit Parish, Our Lady of the Way will be following in the footsteps of St Ignatius joining this community action, awareness raising and fundraising campaign for our sisters and brothers in crisis right now. We warmly invite you to join the Jesuit Mission Australia and Cardoner Network combined team who will be leaving the Ron Dyer Centre at 3.30 pm on Thursday 31 July.
Myanmar is facing an unprecedented humanitarian crisis that is set to get worse with the commencement of forced conscription for all people 18 and over. St Ignatius described the ideal leader as living with “One Foot Raised” ready to step forward and respond to human need and suffering in the world. So, we ask you to walk with One Foot Raised in a show of solidarity for the people of Myanmar.
