Fr Richard Leonard SJ from North Sydney Catholics, presided over the funeral in Sydney of retired detective Peter Meagher, who was killed in the Bondi terror attack last month. Fr Richard said: “None of us should be here. Peter’s life was taken suddenly, violently, and far too soon. It feels wrong, because it IS wrong. And today the Church does not pretend otherwise. Our prayers and solidarity remain with the families of the other 14 innocent people, our sisters and brothers, who also senselessly died that day.”
