Parish Council Reports

The Council met for the second time in 2011 on Wednesday 2nd March, invigorated by the
enriching experience of the previous weekend when we, in recognition of the importance
of our continuing spiritual development as a team, attended an Ignatius Province
Introduction program. We thank Frances Tilly, our Parish Pastoral Associate, who played
the principal role in organising the weekend and was one of the two excellent presenters,
and Edwin Galea, our Ministries Coordinator, for his very able assistance. It was a
marvelous opportunity to spend time together in the wonderful ambience of Stormanston
House in reflection and prayer and in spiritual formation through a greater understanding
of the Ignatian way.

The Council met for the first time in 2011 on Wednesday 2nd February.

Over the Christmas period the members of the Council had been asked to identify three areas they would want to see the Council focus on during 2011. Their replies formed the basis of discussion at the meeting which agreed that our three key objectives for the year would be:

 Promoting an understanding of the role of the laity and encouraging an active involvement by the laity in the life of our parishes. We recognise that community building is an important step in creating a culture where people want to be actively involved.

  •  The Council met for the last time in 2010 on Wednesday 10 November. Claire Loneragan presented a personal and thoughtful reflection on the meaning of „sharing a lifelong journey‟, as part of the Council's focus this year on examining the Parish Mission Statement, in order to understand it more fully and actively live it out.
