The Parish of Our Lady of the Way continues to look after the Sick, Lonely & Housebound through the kindness & generosity of a number of Parishioners.
This is done throughout the week by a network of helpers who take the Holy Eucharist and visit them in their homes or in their residential hospices.
Currently volunteers are making around 50 visits per week. Some have been doing this for a good number of years. Many attest to the rewarding nature of this ministry. This ministry helps to alleviate loneliness and boredom. It brings kindness, comfort and solace to those who are restricted or have lost their mobility. It is also a ministry where a kind word, a warm smile, and tender loving care brings relief to those whom society has often forgotten.

If you, or some one you know needs the Eucharist brought home,
or simply desires someone to call a Nursing Home or Hospital
please contact Alan Panambalana (contact details above)
Are you or a close relative going into hospital and would appreciate a visit?
To make sure you get a visit and or receive Holy Communion, please:
1. Let us know on
a. 8918 4101 at the Parish Office; or directly
b. 0414 817 802, Alan Panambalana, the Ministry Coordinator.
2. On completing the forms at hospital, you must inform them that you are Catholic and willing to receive chaplain visits.
Without this information chaplains or our volunteers in the Ministry of the Sick Lonely and Housebound are not allowed to visit due to privacy laws.
A number of people are admitted into hospital and the Hospital staff ask basic questions of name etc but not the question of religion and many of our parishioners miss out on receiving a visit.
If a relative or someone you know wishes to receive regular visits at home please also use these numbers so we can minister to them in their need. This may be simply a home visit or a home visit and receiving Holy Communion.
