The Camino Committee is a sub-committee of the Parish Pastoral Council.
The name “Camino” incorporates our Parish Mission Statement:-

  • which speaks of us “ sharing a lifelong journey”.
  • takes into account the fact we are a part of
The Parishes of Our Lady of the Way .
  • “Camino” is a Spanish word meaning “way” .
  • that St Ignatius of Loyola is Spanish from the Basque country of Northern Spain across which pilgrims from medieval times to to-day walk on pilgrimage  to Santiago de Compostela.

The Camino Committee’s goal is to arrange interesting and stimulating talks , workshops and discussions which are both enjoyable and encouraging. The topics are wide ranging but based on our Faith Journey.

Members of the Committee hope to foster an interest in our Faith , beyond Sunday Mass, and to enrich our journey , whether we go regularly to church , or are just interested in a good speaker. Although we generally meet in a Church  people of all faiths or no faith are welcome and we invite constructive and stimulating dialogue.  We believe that through interesting discussion we are enriched and grow spiritually.

We are currently building a database of support as “Friends of Camino” .
