I could not help but see God's hand in the work of such an event. The Dinner has become an important event in the life of the Parish. Amongst the many things we do as a community, there a few occasions when we "socialise" - sit and enjoy the company of others. There is no other reason for such an event beyond the opportunity to mix with others of our religious community.
I am grateful to the no-nonsense approach of Fran Babic who directed the event from beginning to end. Nothing was too much trouble. To Kerry Bristow and the North Sydney Pastoral Team in conjunction with the Pastoral teams from the other two Churches who ensured that it was a success from the beginning. To Jo Kenderes and her "song and dance" team who made music for us, on the night and on the night last year. Sydney Leagues Club bent over backwards to make sure that we were accommodated in every way possible. The only casualty was Barney Mungoven who smiled throughout his trials and is still smiling from his hospital bed. Thanks to all who made the evening the wonderful occasion it was.
