Combined Choir Rehearsal

Tuesday, 29 NOV 2011, 7.30pm - St Mary's church

Would you like to sing at the Christmas Midnight Mass at St Mary's North Sydney?

Danielle Whitmore (Joosse), as many would know, has retired after being such great service to the Parish.  Her parting wish was, and remains that all the good works go on.  Indeed to continue in its improvements.

One of Danielle's works has been conducting the Parish Choir for all big events.

With Christmas fast approaching and as a next step preparation for the Midnight Christmas Mass at St Mary's North Sydney must commence.

Daniel Younan, a former parishioner of St Mary's, and a current regular participant at the Midday Mass at St Mary's, has volunteered to conduct a combined male and female choir.  Daniel comes with 10 years experience at Choir conducting four part choirs, six years at Kuring-Gai and another four  at Pymble Parish.   Daniel is a well trained tenor and suitably musically qualified.

At a meeting of a small number of male choir representatives earlier this week, a common vision was shared that in the medium/longer term, a four part choir of Sopranos, Altos, Tenors and Basses  would emerge as the Parishes of Our Lady of the Way Choir.  This combined Choir would perform at future big church calendar events and perhaps on a periodical basis singing at the St Mary's 10.30am Mass.

First things first, 7.30pm at St Mary's North Sydney next Tuesday 22nd November, the Midnight Mass Christmas choir will assemble for its first rehearsal.  Daniel Younan will lead and conduct with Anne Somers on the Organ.

For those who would like to sing at the 10.30am Mass on Sunday 27th November, please arrive at 7pm to rehearse with David Seward first.
