The idea is to discover the Chinese tradition of friends visiting each other during the Chinese New Year. If they have not seen each other for the whole year, during this time, it is a must that they visit each other, say their best wishes and catch up. Let’s see if this would work for us.
More about the 10.30 Mass at St Mary's on Sun 13th February:
We will have visiting priests to accompany us in the liturgical celebration.
From Chairman, Eddie Tsui:
Our Men’s Choir will be joined by a visiting Choir from St. Peter Julian, China Town; Pam Galea, will sing the Psalm, and Lanneke Wallace-Wells and Joe Drzyzga from Lavender Bay. Lanneke will sing a Chinese song which she performed at the Shanghai Expo last year.
Please stay for the special Chinese New Year morning tea, in the Primary School behind the Church. If you wish to bring a Chinese dish, please call Vivian King on 0424 999 227.
The theme of our celebration is "harmony" which surely is another word for inclusiveness! This is not a feast purely for Chinese, even Asians, it is a feast for all of us and I will proudly stand shoulder to shoulder with my fellow parishioners. Come and be part of the parish solidarity.
