Activities at Holy Family School Emerton, Mt Druitt

Volunteers from our parish continue to support the teachers at Holy Family School Emerton.
We assist the children with their reading, comprehension and listening activities.
This year we also assist with numeracy exercises.

The children who are aged between 5 and 9 years are very welcoming and seem to enjoy their interaction with us. Many have learning problems and appreciate our one to one involvement with them.

Sister Brenda Kennedy, the Principal always welcomes us enthusiastically. She is determined that no child will leave her school without being able to read and write to a satisfactory standard. The class teachers are also welcoming and appreciative of our support.
It is an easy trip along the M2 and M7 to the school where we spend three hours and then a happy drive home sharing the stories of the morning.
